Study of Electric Properties of Electrochemical Transistors with Ionic Liquids
Blahut, Jan ; Pospíšil, Jan (referee) ; Zmeškal, Oldřich (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on preparation of organic electrochemical transistors and following characterization of electric properties of these systems. Two types of electrode systems were used for preparation – glass substrates with steamed oxide of indium and tin and polylactic acid substrates with admixture of carbon soot. Three methods were tested for creation of PEDOT channel. Materiál printing, spin-coating and manual application. The measurement shows, that voltage applied to gate electrode has no effect switching of transistor. Size and polarity of current between source and drain electrodes has a major influence here.
Characterization of electronic properties of nanowires for electrochemistry
Organic solar cells prepared by methods compatible with printing technologies
Babincová, Kristina ; Pospíšil, Jan (referee) ; Zmeškal, Oldřich (advisor)
The theoretical part deals mainly with basic properties of organic materials, which are used in electronics, and especially in the field of photovoltaic cells. The experimental part deals with preparation of photovoltaic cells by deposition from solution, characterization of their basic electrical properties and preparation of a photovoltaic cell with its own pattern. Samples of classical and inverted structures of photovoltaic cells with P3HT and PCBM bulk heterojunction were prepared. Reference samples were prepared under standard conditions (under nitrogen). Their efficiency was around 3 %. In addition, samples were prepared by spin coating under laboratory conditions and by spreading. In both cases, their efficiency was about 1.5 %. Large-scale photovoltaic cells (active area of about 1 cm^2) were prepared in the last experiment presented. Efficiency decreased to 0.75 %. From results mentioned above is clear that very simple methods and procedures that do not impair the price/performance ratio can be used to prepare photovoltaic cells.
Plasma-Assisted Deposition of Functional Bioactive Nanostructured Films
SEZEMSKÝ, Petr
The Ph.D. thesis focuses on the interdisciplinary research of advanced materials for the development of biosensors with multiple domain interrogation capabilities for the detection of biomolecules and pathogens, namely, Lyme borreliosis spirochetes, Borrelia burgdorferi s.l. The strategy for biosensor fabrication is based on an optical fiber whose surface is coated by precisely tailored nanostructured thin films by means of low-temperature plasma. The thesis demonstrates that an indium tin oxide (ITO) thin film, deposited by magnetron sputtering onto the optical fiber surface, can serve as an effective transducer for electrochemical and optical measurements. The optical interrogation is based on the measurement of the refractive index utilizing lossy-mode resonance (LMR) phenomena, while the electrochemical interrogation is performed mostly by cyclic voltammetry. It is shown that the optimal design of the active surface on an optical fiber enables simultaneous (in time and in situ) optical and electrochemical interrogation of liquids and detection of biological complexes, including markers of Lyme borreliosis pathogens.

Natural monopolies in Electricity and Gas Sectors (the legal aspects)
Kadlecová, Eliška ; Handrlica, Jakub (advisor) ; Eichlerová, Kateřina (referee)
The purpose of this diploma thesis is to use relevant economic knowledge for the analysis of the key legal aspects of the natural monopoly, particularly the main theoretical aspects thereto. The interpretation is not limited to principle features, however, it covers also the related issues. The text is focused mainly on electricity and gas industries. Apart from applicable law and legal books, the relevant case law of the Constitutional Court and Supreme Administrative Court of Czech Republic has been also a significant source of knowledge hereto. The European Union legal regulations and expert opinions of the European Commission have been taken into account as well. The diploma thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is focused on economic aspects of the applicable law. It provides thorough overview concerning the model and its introduction into reviewed fields. The principal information, historical background and view of the critics are introduced. This chapter also labels the entities under the Czech law that are considered to be the natural monopolies. Furthermore, three basic fields of legal institutes that are subject to subsequent review are outlined. The second chapter defines elementary terms relevant for further research. Specifically, it covers the distribution,...
Development of the process of ion beam sputtering of the ITO thin films
Hlubuček, Jiří
This report deals with ITO (indium tin oxide) deposition by ion-beam sputtering, and was custom-made for Crytur. All the depositions were performed at room temperature (i.e. without heating). Optimalization of ITO thin films was made without as well as with the assistant ion beam using oxygen or argon-oxygen discharge. Deposition rate was tracked in-situ by quartz crystal monitor. More precise determination of the film thickness was made after deposition by spectroscopic ellipsometry. Electrical resistance was also evaluated.\n
Deposition of functional thin films by plasma processes
SEZEMSKÝ, Petr
An aim of this work is a research of a deposition process of indium tin oxide by plasma assisted methods. The thesis deals with plasma diagnostics, e.g. Langmuir probe diagnostics and optical emission spectroscopy, as well as describes experiments of film deposition including their diagnostics, e.g. absorption spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometry and atomic force microscopy.
